About CCAA

Canadian Contemporary Artists Association (CCAA) is a national not-for-profit organization aiming to empower and uplift immigrant and newcomer artists while fostering creativity across diverse communities in Canada. CCAA also strives to celebrate and support the achievements of artists from marginalized backgrounds, with a specific focus on women, LGBTQ individuals, and First Nations artists. With emerging talent across traditional and new media, we embrace artists at every stage of their creative journey.

Mission

The core mission of the Canadian Contemporary Artists Association is to provide a supportive platform for immigrant and newcomer artists in Canada. Understanding the unique challenges these artists may face, CCAA is committed to creating an inclusive environment where creativity can flourish. The organization strives to break down barriers, offering opportunities, resources, and mentorship to help these artists thrive in their artistic pursuits.

Additional Focus:

Recognizing the intersectionality of identity, CCAA extends its support to three key demographics – women, LGBTQ individuals, and First Nations artists. By doing so, the association seeks to address the specific challenges faced by these groups within the broader context of immigrant and newcomer experiences. CCAA aims not only to provide a stage for their artistic expression but also to amplify their voices and stories.
